7-length win for promising 2yo homebred Mr Khalid

Tattersalls October Sale 2014Mr Khalid looked a colt of immense promise for Marco Botti on Wednesday when running away with his second start, a two-year-old maiden at Nottingham, by seven lengths.

Ridden by Adam Kirby, Mr Khalid (pictured right as a yearling) was always in command and quickened clear to win as he pleased. In the process, he became the third winner of the week for his first crop sire Pour Moi.

Making his win particularly special is the fact he was bred and raised at Blue Diamond Stud – in fact, he was the first ever foal born by his Derby-winning sire.
