Ajaya profiled in ANZ Bloodstock News
Homebred Ajaya, winner of the 2015 Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes, was profiled among the new intake of Australian stallions in the August 1 edition of ANZ Bloodstock News on Tuesday.
Ajaya is shuttling to Chatswood Stud, former home of his sire Invincible Spirit, for the upcoming southern hemisphere season, where he will stand for $13,200 (+GST). He has just finished his first season at Rathbarry Stud in Ireland.
“Ajaya is the right shuttle stallion to bring to Australia,” said Greg Willis, Chatswood Stud’s manager. “He loved firm tracks, Redoute’s Choice is in his female family and of course Ajaya will take his place in the same barn that his sire, Invincible Spirit did when he stood here.
“He is serving quality mares in his first Northern Hemisphere season in Ireland where some astute breeder’s have noted his uncanny resemblance to his sire.
“I couldn’t be more confident he will make it as a sire in Australia. We will be supporting him very well.”
Ajaya was bred by Blue Diamond Stud out of the Hennessy mare Nessina, a half-sister to the dam of Bated Breath and Tantina. It is the further family of top Australian sire Redoute’s Choice.
