BDS-bred Expecting To Fly earns Godolphin landmark
Many congratulations to Godolphin on their 5,000th winner, achieved courtesy on Thursday of the Blue Diamond Stud-bred Expecting To Fly.
The daughter of Iffraaj, who was purchased by Godolphin from us as a yearling, scored at La Teste De Buch for Henri-Alex Pantall to bring up the momentous landmark.
Expecting To Fly is the first foal out of Group 3 winner Lady Wingshot, bought by Tony Nerses for the stud in 2013. Trained by Jim Bolger, she won four races in total, including the Group 3 Fairy Bridge Stakes, Listed Knockaire Stakes and Listed Corrib Stakes. The daughter of Lawman is a three-parts sister to multiple Listed winner Bahama Mama and from the further family of the legendary Yeats.
Lady Wingshot’s second foal, I Am Magical, has shown fair form in three starts for Hugo Palmer and should soon be winning judging by her closing fourth at Kempton on Thursday.
The mare also has a yearling filly by Zoffany, a colt foal by Dubawi and visited our own stallion Decorated Knight this season.
