Blue Diamond bred Raucous looks classy on debut
THE Blue Diamond Stud-bred Raucous made the best possible start to his career on Friday for Highclere Thoroughbred Racing when the easy winner of his debut at Sandown.
Although the race was reduced to a match, it was an impressive performance from the William Haggas-trained Raucous, who only had to be shaken up by Ryan Moore to score by nearly four lengths.
The son of Dream Ahead was bred by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar out of their Queen Mary Stakes runner-up Shyrl, an Acclamation granddaughter of French Group 3 winner Benicia.
Shyrl has a colt foal by SAYIF and is back in foal to Dream Ahead.
Raucous was sold by Blue Diamond Stud through Highclere Stud for 100,000gns to John Warren at Book 2 of last year’s Tattersalls October Sale.
