Exciting future for Alfajer
Alfajer looks set for an exciting three-year-old campaign for Marco Botti given the ease with which she disposed of ten rivals at Lingfield. Narrowly beaten by the highly regarded Lady Correspondent on her debut at Newmarket last month, Alfajer broke her maiden by 2 1/4 lengths this time around with the minimum of fuss.
“We think a bit of her,” jockey Martin Harley told the Racing Post. “I would have preferred a lead, but I kept it simple. I liked her turn of foot and although she wasn’t doing much in front I loved her attitude. She’s nice.”
The Mount Nelson filly was bought for £85,000 by Tony Nerses at last year’s DBS Premier Sale.
