Blue Diamond Stud has continued to bolster its bloodstock holdings with the purchase of a quartet of well-related mares at the Goffs February Sale.

They were led by the winning STEREO VIEWING, a Galileo relation to top milers Fairy Footsteps and Chinese Dragon for whom the stud paid €80,000.

The Group 3-placed MAIDEN VOYAGE, a daughter of Motivator from the immediate family of Group 1-winning miler Lightning Spear who cost €55,000, is also another exciting recruit as is the high-class LADY RAMONTI, a tough Listed winner who was also Group 3-placed.

Rounding out the quartet is SPRING ETERNAL, a winning Oasis Dream daughter of dual Listed winner Short Dance. Spring Eternal is in foal to Belardo.

Several of the mares were purchased with Decorated Knight in mind, as Imad Al Sagar explained to the TDN.

“Maiden Voyage is a lovely, well-balanced mare with good conformation and she should suit Decorated Knight well,” said Al Sagar. “I think her pedigree will also work well with Decorated Knight and it continues our policy of supporting the stallion strongly to give him every possible chance of success.”
