Half-sister to Order Of St George bought at Goffs
The next stop on the sales circuit was the Goffs Orby Sale, where Tony Nerses secured two yearlings on our behalf – a Holy Roman Emperor half-sister to recent Irish St Leger winner Order Of St George for €360,000 and a second crop son of Zoffany for €160,000.
Tony was also underbidder on the €2 million sale-topping filly out of Spirit Of Tara.
The Holy Roman Emperor filly, who shares her sire with our Princess Margaret Stakes winner Princess Noor, is a half-sister to five winners, including Order Of St George and Group/Grade 3 winners Asperity and Angel Terrace. Consigned by Clare Castle Stud, she is out of the Gone West mare Another Storm and a granddaughter of American champion Storm Song.
“She looks like a bullet!” Tony Nerses told the Racing Post. “She’s got the page to become a foundation mare for the stud [Blue Diamond Stud] – we’ve bought her with a view to the long term. She’s really strong and has plenty of quality.Hopefully she’s another Princess Noor!
“Her breeders, Paget Bloodstock, have been very lucky for us. I bought Authorized from him as a foal and he also sold [Group 3 winner] Green Destiny and [stakes producer] Majestic Sakeena to me. Until today, they were the only three I’d bought off him!”
Later in the day, Tony added a Zoffany colt out of Knysna. He is a half-brother to two winners and from the further family of champion Kutub.
