Major Race Winners since 2006

Living the dream

Numerous stakes winners have carried the green and gold colours of Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar since 2006, led by the runaway Epsom Derby winner Authorized and Group 1 Jebel Hatta hero Decorated Knight.

Authorized ended his career as the Cartier champion three-year-old colt of 2007 while another flagbearer, Classic winner Araafa, was one of the leading milers of 2006 following victories in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and St. James’s Palace Stakes.

In the early years, all the winners owned by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar were sourced at public auction by Tony Nerses. However, as Blue Diamond Stud has grown in size, more homebreds are heading to the track, and in 2010, the stud reached a notable milestone when Nouriya became the operation’s first home-bred stakes winner when successful in the Listed Lyric Stakes at York.

Since then, the stud has enjoyed further homebred success with Irish Champion Stakes and Tattersalls Gold Cup winner Decorated Knight, who became our first homebred Group 1 winner in March 2017 when successful in the Jebel Hatta at Meydan, Gimcrack Stakes winner Ajaya, now standing at Rathbarry Stud in Ireland, and Group 2 winner Aljazzi, this year’s Duke Of Cambridge Stakes heroine who is the product of two generations of Blue Diamond breeding. She later set a sale record of 1 million guineas when sold to Newsells Park Stud at the 2018 Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale.
