Winner of three races including
    Irish 2,000 Guineas (Gr.1) and
    St James's Palace Stakes (Gr.1)

Purchased for 150,000gns as a yearling, the Jeremy Noseda-trained Araafa is best remembered for lowering the colours of the brilliant George Washington in the Irish 2,000 Guineas. Araafa ran out the easy two-length winner of the Classic that day under Alan Munro and confirmed himself as a miler out of the top drawer when defeating the top French colt Stormy River to take the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The son of Mull Of Kintyre also ran second in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and fourth in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket.

‘He improved again since Ireland. He’s a top horse, he’s got a great cruising speed and can kick off it.  It will take a mighty good one to beat him’
Jeremy Noseda, speaking after Araafa’s St James’s Palace Stakes win at Royal Ascot
