Tough sprinter travelled to Turkey to win the International Trakya for Britain

Purchased for just £60,000 as a yearling by Tony Nerses, Orvar developed into a hardy campaigner for Richard Hannon and then Robert Cowell.

After breaking his maiden at the first time of asking at Salisbury, Orvar went on to acquit himself well in good company, notably when travelling to Turkey to capture the International Trakya, a local Group 3, at Veliefendi.

Travelling to Turkey was a big ask for a young horse but Orvar made light of the whole experience to win easily for Britain.

The son of Dandy Man ultimately won three races for us before changing hands and today, remains in training with Paul Midgley.
