Saleh AI Homaizi and lmad AI Sagar have enjoyed an exceptional rate of success at the top level of British racing for the past ten years.
In 2004, their advisor Tony Nerses pulled off the remarkable achievement of purchasing two Classic winners at Tattersalls within six weeks of each other; Authorized and Araafa. Araafa was a 150,000gns yearling purchase while Authorized cost 95,000gns as a foal. Authorized returned to the ring as a yearling where he was knocked down to Peter Chapple-Hyam but returned unsold.
While Authorized carried the colours of Saleh AI Homaizi and I mad AI Sagar to victory in the Derby and Judd monte International en route to being crowned Cartier champion three-year-old colt of 2007, Araafa defeated George Washington in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and later followed up in the St. James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. To top it all, Jersey Stakes winner Tariq was purchased on the same day as Araafa!
More recently, homebred Decorated Knight became the first Group 1 winner bred and raised at Blue Diamond Stud when successful in the Jebel Hatta on Super Saturday at Meydan in March 2017. The Galileo colt is the first foal out of Pearling, a sister to Giant’s Causeway bought by Tony Nerses as a foundation mare.
Overall highlights include 12 stakes winners, among them other Group scorers such as Hamoody, Princess Noor and Sayif, and 25 stakes performers overall; impressive statistics considering that the operation was not represented by more than 20 runners in a season until 2013.
Blue Diamond Stud, the Newmarket-based breeding operation of Saleh AI Homaizi and lmad AI Sagar, has also been quick to make its presence felt since its official launch in the summer of 2010. Despite its short history, the stud has already produced a number of high-class homebred performers led by stakes performers Yuften, Justineo, Nouriya and Lady Nouf.
