Pleasing start for BDS graduate Corinthian
Stud graduate Corinthian made a pleasing start to his career for Highclere Thoroughbred Racing and Roger Varian on Friday when successful in the 1m4f maiden at Haydock Park.
The son of Sea The Stars overcame greenness to run down the leaders and win going away.
“I was impressed by the way he picked up and he hit the line well,” jockey Andrea Atzeni told the Racing Post.
Corinthian was bred by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar out of the Kingmambo mare Contradictive, a half-sister to Group 1 winner Gracioso and Group 2 winner Caesour. They are out of Don’t Sulk, a Group 3-winning daughter of Graustark from the further family of Ajdal and Arazi.
Corinthian was sold by Blue Diamond Stud through The Castlebridge Consignment for 100,000gns to John Warren at the Tattersalls October Sale. Warren also signed for fellow Blue Diamond graduate Raucous, who was subsequently Group 2-placed, at the same sale.
