Promising maiden win for Galileo Gold’s sister Choumicha
The regally-bred filly Choumicha appears to have a promising future ahead of her judging by her smart win at Leicester on Tuesday.
The daughter of Paco Boy, a sister to the brilliant miler Galileo Gold, built on her encouraging debut at Kempton to run out the cosy winner of division one of the 7f maiden under Andrea Atzeni. The Racing Post remarked that achieving black-type is a likely target.
Choumicha is only the second foal out of Galicuix following Galileo Gold. Galileo Gold was ‘just’ a Group 2 winner when Tony Nerses paid £280,000 for Choumicha at the GoffsUK Premier Sale. Since then, he established himself as a miler of the highest class, winning the 2,000 Guineas and St. James’s Palace Stakes and running placed in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and Sussex Stakes.
In turn, Galicuix is a half-sister to King’s Stand Stakes winner Goldream. It is the further family of Montjeu.
