Sprint success for Orvar
Orvar gained a deserved success on Friday when taking the 5 furlong handicap at Kempton for Robert Cowell.
Always handy under Martin Harley, Orvar made his challenge under a furlong out and reeled in the leader to score cosily by a neck.
It was a third win for Orvar, a high-class two-year-old several years ago who travelled to Turkey to win the International Trakya Trophy.
The son of Dandy Man was purchased by Tony Nerses for £60,000 at the 2014 DBS Premier Yearling Sale. He is the best foal to date out of Roskeen, a Grand Lodge half-sister to the dam of Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Samitar.
