Stunning Frankel colt added at Arqana
We had a very successful couple of days at the Arqana August Sale, where Tony Nerses signed on our behalf for two lots; a Frankel colt out of Piping (€750,000) and a Kendargent filly out of Damdam Freeze (€100,000).
We were also the underbidders on an Invincible Spirit colt out of Vedela.
The purchase of the Frankel colt means that we now have three yearlings from the first crop of the unbeaten champion alongside our homebred filly out of Pearling and colt out of Turama.
“He’s the nicest individual I’ve seen thus far by Frankel,” Tony Nerses told the TDN. “As a whole, Frankel is producing all sorts, but this particular one was very, very special; very good looking.”
An extremely attractive and well-balanced individual who is another credit to his part-breeder and vendor Ecurie des Monceaux, he is the third foal out of his dam, a Montjeu half-sister to Arc hero Sagamix and Group 1-winning two-year-old Sagacity. It is also immediate family of Prix Saint-Alary winner Sagawara and Secret Gesture, who was first past the post in Saturday’s Grade 1 Beverly D Stakes.
The Kendargent filly, meanwhile, is a sister to the high-class two-year-olds Kendam and Kenfreeze and out of Damdam Freeze, a placed daughter of Indian Rocket from the family of Myboycharlie. She was bred and offered by Haras de Colleville, which also stands Kendargent, today one of France’s most important sires.
Trainers for the pair will be decided at a later date.
