Third win of 2015 for Ghalib
Ghalib showed real determination to repel all challengers at Ffos Las on Friday and take the Sinclairs Handicap, the feature event on the card.
It was the third win of the season for the Ed Walker-trained Ghalib following victories at Salisbury and Kempton. Ridden by Luke Morris, he was never far off the leaders and showed a great attitude to pull away from the runner-up Personal Touch to score by two lengths.
“It was a tight, trappy race,” Luke Morris told At The Races, “but my fella is only three and I’d hope he’s on the way up.”
Bred by T. Molan, Ghalib was a 150,000gns foal purchase by Tony Nerses. The son of Lope De Vega is a half-brother to the top-class, unbeaten two-year-old Harbour Watch and out of Gorband, a Woodman granddaughter of blue hen Fall Aspen.
