Third win on the bounce for Gulliver!
Gulliver landed his third race in quick succession on Monday, making light of a penalty to score in the class 3 handicap.
Better to break under Josephine Gordon than can be the norm, Gulliver tracked the leader and responded well when asked to quicken clear and win cosily in the manner of a hugely progressive horse with the likes of Tropics and Intransigent in behind
“Gulliver is a quirky horse and it’s just taken a bit of time to sweeten him,” said Gordon. “He used to be slow away but he was so quick today he almost left me behind! He’s a reformed character and I wouldn’t be surprised if he does it again.”
It was a fourth win for Gulliver, who has always been highly regarded by Hugo Palmer. He is from the first crop of our stallion Sayif, who stands at Llety Farms, and was bred by Alun Douch out of Sweet Coincidence, also the dam of 1,000 Guineas runner-up Lightning Thunder and Sagaro Stakes winner Sweet Selection.
Gulliver was purchased by Tony Nerses for 50,000gns as a yearling.
