Winning start for Euginio
Euginio made the perfect start to his career on Monday when taking his debut at Wolverhampton.
The Richard Hannon-trained colt took up the running two furlongs out and held the challenge of Hurricane Rush to win by a length under Sean Levey.
“Euginio knew his job and he outclassed them today,” Sean Levey told the Racing Post. “He came home strongly and is a nice horse to look forward to.”
The Racing Post was also impressed, remarking: ‘He should become a decent handicapper at around 1m.’
Bred by Arkle Bloodstock, Euginio was purchased as a yearling by Tony Nerses for 155,000gns out of the Clare Castle Stud consignment at last year’s Tattersalls October Sale. The son of Fastnet Rock is a half-brother to Listed winner Handassa and out of Starstone, a Diktat half-sister to top sprinters Pastoral Pursuits and Goodricke.
